“Run people, run out of the town, the drunken/crazy crew is arriving. Run, people, while there is still hope, because Croatia is playing here!” roared the crowd in downtown Dallas. FIFA’S Croatian American Friendship parade was a wild and lively event filled with chanting, cheering, and fountain swimming from passionate World Cup fans not only from Croatia but from Australia, Japan, New Zealand, and beyond.
An enveloping 100-meter Croatian fan flag stretched the entire width of Commerce Street, with fans supporting every inch of it across and back. The march ended at Ferris Plaza where drums pounded and fans danced in the center fountain. Dallas can expect to see more from Croatian fans as England and Croatia go head-to-head at Dallas Stadium today at 3 pm.
