Photos: The Protests the RNC Convention Drew

While the RNC midterm convention drew thousands to the American Airlines Center Wednesday and Thursday, not all the action was inside the arena. Protests popped up—some small efforts that happened around the secure perimeter set up around the convention, and more organized efforts throughout downtown.
Those protests included the Dallas Against Trump Coalition’s march from Pike Park to the arena, and the We the People Rally for Democracy at City Hall. While a brief dustup happened during the march that resulted in two arrests, the events were largely peaceful in terms of conflict, but at times tense and fiery.
We sent photographers Jason Janik and Jessica Winniford to capture the scene from those protests.
